If you ever have to stand up and speak in front of an audience, the Confessions of a Public Speaker is a must-read. There are many books on public speaking, which probably makes sense: people who are good at speaking on stage usually also enjoy spreading their ideas in print. Confessions of a Public Speaker. While it's the most important thing, Berkun's not only speaking from personal experience. Standing in front of an audience of any size, for any reason, has been my kryptonite. His book references a bunch of the ones on my lists and “connects the dots” between them. Jan Schultink recommended this book and I enjoyed it. I recently finished a great book, Confessions of a Public Speaker by Scott Berkun, and thought it would be interesting to contrast some of what is in the book with masjid 'speaking' experiences. The book has enough useful substance, and a healthy dollop of humor, to get my vote. Scott Berkun is an accomplished public speaker. A confession: I've never liked, or been good at, public speaking.
